I know I worry too much, but I hate seeing a kid like Hail out in the park by herself. Maybe it wouldn't hit me so hard if I weren't just waiting for the Brooks girl to show up in a dumpster or a gutter or in the river... Job was there. Got some coffee spilled on him. I wanted to approach him, but I just couldn't. I couldn't leave the girl.
That's not true. I couldn't get over myself enough to go approach him. The girl had nothing to do with my cowardice.

Judah wouldn't go out for a beer after work, so I went to DnA for a Collins instead. Met a man. He's a doctor. Head doctor, but that's still a doctor. His card says his name is Job Blut. Something about that name seems so familiar to me, but I just can't place it. I'm sure it will come to me at some point.
I can stare down the business end of a gun, but I can't call up a cute doctor. Fuck me.
