I am going to lose my badge.
I found the Brooks girl. It was a stroke of fantastically dumb luck, but I found her. At first glance, she's all kinds of messed up in the head. But... The part of me that knows these fainting spells aren't some sort of brain tumor, knows that Tamara Brooks isn't crazy. She talks like she's seen the future. Or possible futures. She predicted the rain. Now, granted, that's not anything spectacular, but still. I didn't think it looked as though it was going to rain. There's something odd about her...
And I should have brought her in. I should have hauled her ass down to the precinct to wait until her family came to retrieve her. Been some big, bloody hero for it. But no. I let the girl go.
Something inside of me told me it was the right thing to do. I can only hope that no one finds out, and that it won't cost me my job.
